A trip on 3/12/2000 to Monterey and Carmel.

The weatherman said it was going to be nice so  Monte, Emma and I took a nice drive to the beach.

We first stopped at Moss Landing to look at the fishing boats.

Then off to Monterey, Lovers Point and Ocean View Drive. This is my favorite place in the world.

There is a great walk way along the beach that starts at Cannery Row and continues for a long way along the coast. A great many people walk along this path to see the beautiful coastline.

As you continue down Ocean View drive there are many places you can watch the waves and look into tide pools.

Monte and I enjoyed looking at the starfish, little fish, abalone shells, little crabs, and all the other little creatures that live in these tide pools.

In the city of Carmel we stopped and looked at many of the great shops that were in town. If you are an art lover this is a great place to look at the galleries. The restaurants in town are almost as good as my wife's cooking. Actually Carmel is one of the great food capitals of the world.

The beach at the end of town is a very pretty beach and Monte had great fun running on the beach.

We ended our drive going up the road to Carmel Valley. This is a pretty drive and you pass a lot of great golf courses and small ranchettes. There are also several little wineries along the drive.

On the way back in Carmel Valley we did stop at a park along the Carmel river and walked out to this old barn.

Monte had to try to smell this old stink bug on the trail. The big black thing above the bug is Monte's nose.

This is a great drive  if you come to the San Francisco area. You would be seeing one of the prettiest places in the world.
