The one thing you don't want to hear when you have people that live in the country.

FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom gave us a call today and boy did it really bother us!

She told us a fire was heading their way over the ridge!

I live below San Francisco and she lives in Oregon and there was really nothing that Monte and I could do!

Oregon has been really dry and the grasses and trees are really dry.

Being so dry the danger of fire is everywhere!

What's really bad is with a little wind it can travel really quick.

I have seen grass fires travel so fast it could out run a person or even a quick deer.

I could only imagine what they were feeling as they saw the flames getting closer to their house and the horses that are in the fields around them.

Then the fire trucks started to come and the firemen began to fight the flames!

You can see how dry things are and the fire spread very quickly!

The firemen where very brave and went right after the flames.

They risk everything, every time they fight fires so they can save lives. people's homes, animals, and property.

Right after this picture the firemen got control of the blaze before it got to their house.

I bet tears of joy came to their eyes that it didn't reach their home!

If the fire had reached the trees behind their house it would of been a lot worse.

Monte and I were really relieved when we got the call that everything was fine this time, that they were ok and that it didn't reach their house.

I know in my heart it was because of the quick response from the fire department that things didn't get any worse.

I know that it saddens me every time I hear of the big fires and of the loss of life and property.
