Monte was not always big.
I thought you might like to see what he looked like when we first got him.
This is Monte at 8 weeks old and boy was he cute.
My daughter wanted a certain dog from a certain breeder so she flew from San Jose, California to Tucson, Arizona and Monte and my daughter, Melinda, flew home to us.
Even though Monte had his own bed, the first several days, I don't think he ever slept in his own bed alone. There were too many hugs and cuddles to be taken care of.
Once in a while he slept on his own. We thought a wool blanket would make him feel warm and cuddly.
Monte took a lot of care and attention in those first days and Monte got plenty of both.
Many times my daughter's friends would come over and check on Monte and he did not go without a lot of attention and love.
This is a picture of Monte at about 1 year of age. The other dog was my dog Barney. He was a chow/German Sheppard mix and we lost him after 15 years. Barney always made sure that Monte knew who was boss.
