The Love of Nature

As you read my pages you will notice I love greatly the Natural Wonders that are around me.

It starts every morning when I wake and I look over at my wife and see her still sleeping soundly and my love of our life warms my body for the day.

I look at my dog, Monte, and see him curled up keeping a close eye over us and knowing that later, he and I will venture out that day on one of our walks and see what new flowers, animals, and people that we will see.

Seeing a flower or a little bird means much to me. I take the time on our walks and notice even the small things of nature. Those little flowers are so small and yet so pretty. The creatures that crawl around fascinate me.  The birds that fly above us, or sit upon a flower or limb, and watch us go by grace the skies and our lives.

I love to go to the beach and watch the waves crashing to the shore, the gulls and other birds flying and walking along the beach. Seeing the sea weed flash different colors in the sun makes me feel like it is almost a fantasy. At times, to see a great whale passing by, can only make you stop and watch in amazement in the beauty and size of such creatures.

I love to see the tide pools and see all the wonderful creatures that live there. I had a visit from a man that had never gone to the beach and I took him there and it made me feel really great when he saw his first star fish and watched his eyes look at these little things in wonderment. He told me how wonderful they were and how he only saw such things on TV, but  this was one of his highlights of his visit. Opening his eyes to see what was around him, and out there, will make a difference in his life.

I have taken my dog Monte to the beach and sat upon the sand and watched a baby seal look at us from just beyond the breakers and sit there for a long time just looking at each other. I wondered what he thought as he looked at us. I thought how pretty he was and what it was like to live as he does. Times as these I will remember for a long time, and yes, will make a difference in my life.

I think the morning is the best to watch natures' glory. The flowers have taken the night and soaked up life from the earth and show their best before the heat of the sun. At this time, there are the many animals that wake up and eat to start their busy day. Once in a while, if you are very early you see a creature that spends the night gathering food and hides during the day.

What's my favorite flower?

The horses at my mothers' place watch for her each morning and come running for their morning carrot. This is a bond with nature and life that means much to her. Seeing this picture reminds me just how much nature means to her and how much she loves the pretty things around her.

Monte, Emma and I enjoyed feeding and playing with the horses early in the morning on our

visit there.

The outdoors and nature makes

everyone feel great!!
