The winter of 2000 has been strange this year. This is 2/1/2000 and as of yet we haven't had a freeze and most of this winter it has stayed in the 60's and very few nights have seen the 30's.

Plants that have normally died back or dormant are blooming and in fact I saw some trees blooming. Some of my day lilies are blooming.

Of course Monte doesn't mind at all as he watches for the little critters that run along our fence.

Monte is watching me as I take pictures.

You can see how green everything is and if you look very careful  blue skies and 63 degrees .

I have been watching the east coast and all their snow and it makes me appreciate the warmth of my own back yard.

Well Monte, my wife and I went for a walk along Los Gatos Creek and saw some nice spring flowers to share.

Wow look at the pretty flowers and the wonderful blue sky. These are the first of the cherry blossoms.

This is sour grass and blooms in the fields in the spring around here. It is very early this year.

This is Emma and Monte along the Los Gatos Creek Trail. The water is a little muddy because they were letting out water from the Lexington Dam above this section of the Creek.

This is a great walking and biking trail. We will visit again when there are more wild flowers along the way.

On 2/7/2000 Monte and I saw our first Daffodil of the year.

This is really early but it was nice. Across from the park I also a purple vine that covered the fence.

Yes they are the same plant and I took the others because of the bees. I like watching them going from flower to flower.

On a walk along Los Gatos Creek we had fun.

We had a great lunch on this bench and watched the people walk and ride their bikes along the trail. The ponds around here have trout and bass for people to fish for.

The trail goes for several miles and many people use it to get away from the busy city life.

All along the way you can see the creek and ponds with many forms of birds and small animals.

Took this picture and just wondered if you knew what it was. It looks like something out of Star Trek. Give you a hint , it was on a tree.

Thanks for now love Monte and Me.
